Looking For a Male Identity

i look at their hands as we stand there
they are the hands of a person –
who views people –
and the world very differently
to me,
is he wrong,
or just right?
i am left,
with very different sight
and i do believe, wholeheartedly,
that his trauma responses –
are meaningless to me
i listen to their stories and funny jokes
there is such talent
but his politics do not get my vote
systems and power –
they are all of our eternal problems
and for him,
perhaps the parental love that did not shower
