Penny Dropper
they are like me
they turn away
an embrace,
it lasts for a while
a face, it passes
a compliment,
goes stale with time
till eventually –
it tastes funny
they are like me
they know the realism
the penny dropping
and the fatalism
their honesty is stunning
far better than hopeless dreamers
with their gigantic dreams
they are aware of things
more romantic then the romantic
their realism is alluring
they are like me
