First Prize
so i may not be first prize
or the jackpot in life’s lottery
but i could catch your eye
i am sure i could survive the flattery
so i may not be the diamond ring
that you saw in the shop window
but i am sure i could give you something
something that never needs to go
so i may not be brand new
and although i may still have my colour
it is hardly an original hue
but don’t believe in another
and i will try to make it all come true
so i may not be the first prize
or the jackpot in life’s lottery
but i know what i have
just give me a chance to make you happy
