A Sweet Surprise

people can be surprising
and the ones that surprise the most
are the ones you never thought would
i like to think,
i never judge any book by its cover
but i am the same as everyone else
i make judgements
strange first impression views
sometimes holding onto those
is an expense,
because when you actually get to know the person
you learn that it really makes no sense
you realise that you’ve wasted your time
and knowing them well knowing them is sublime
they were surprising
they were the one that surprised me the most
i never thought they would be
such a welcome host
