What If I Stopped?
what if i stopped…
just got off…
what if i no longer –
wished to carry on
or if i changed the words
to a favourable song
what if i stopped…
what if i put the brakes on
said,
i cannot carry on
but,
there is too much in my life
to prevent me or save me
someone does carry on
someone always finds themselves
traipsing through bushes
and battling through hedgerows
navigating tracks not yet made
someone always carries on
wondering whether –
‘they’ will be sound
