This Isn’t Love
why do people hurt you
and claim it is love?
when it is nothing of the sort
this pain i feel,
it could not be brought
why do people tear you apart
and claim it is love
they claim to have your heart
i want to shake you,
but i feel too much pity –
to really hate you
why do people hurt you
satisfy their own needs
and claim that it is love
a pure love and belief
when for me, the reality,
is that it’s pain like grief
why do people hurt you
and claim it is love?
