Step Inside – Written September 2022 (Aged 47)

Step Inside

life has moved around me
and it has moved through me
it has covered my frame
and it has moved within me
and i still do not know –
what the outcome is –
of ever changing weather
and strong vertical rain
does it wash away your sunshine
or help with the pain?
i have found people with ease
and i look at them
seeing something in their eyes
that makes me want to step inside
step inside,
and hold onto them
it’s like everything they say
suddenly means the world to me
i am not there
i don’t want to be under the spotlight
i step back and live slightly out of sight
