We Can Be Giants – Written Thursday 28th June 2001 (Aged 26)

We Can Be Giants

when you get turned
it’s best to close your eyes
close your eyes
forget it all
life’s bitter sweet element of surprise
what you look for,
you rarely find
and what you never expected
will probably happen
when you get tired
tired of the smog and the wild dogs
close your eyes
forget it all
we only ever get attacked
by the petty and the small
when you get tired
think of walking tall
we can be giants

James Garratt – Thursday 28th June 2001
