Living In Life Years
i realise now,
that for some, life is a shipwreck
a ship,
sunk before it reached important goals
i am living in lifeboats
finding lost souls,
trying to make them find sunnier climbs
but never truly banishing that cold
i can barely look after myself
so why should i believe
that i can look after everyone else
i have been a late night hero
but the daytime finds me,
and leaves me counting back to zero
i am living in lifeboats
finding beautiful people
but people who can barely float
and i do try my best,
but i realise now,
that for some, life is a shipwreck
