How We Hurt
no one knows,
how much we hurt
and,
what goes on inside
and society,
it expects no reaction
are we mean to hide
is this too negative
is this not pretending enough
and when you broke down
did you crave human touch
did you think,
life has been too tough
how much should we give
and is what we give,
just too much
is this too negative
or is this too soft for you
let me drink beer
let me be you silverback
swinging from trees
where footballs scarves hang
oh please,
no one really knows the hurt,
the type that goes on inside
