Always For You

i will drink your sailor jerrys and coke
i will punch the punchline,
to your funniest joke
i will hold my head up high
and never let the river of friendship run dry
i will always remember what it was like,
when we were young
the right book when you fight
and your everlasting pun
i will be all your heroes that remain unsung
i will eat your favourite foods
you know me, the angle that i always lose
somehow appeals,
as opposed to outright success
which i treat like a hill
as i struggle for breath
i will be the fantasy if you can be real
because those tides,
that govern our river of our friendship
i always feel
