Shower – Written Friday 17th March 2023 (Aged 48)

Shower

they got so angry
when they spoke truth to power
there narrative was so sodden
their lies had to take a shower
freedom of speech,
suddenly became selective
the vested interests of the right
want truth to be unelected
but what could we do,
inhumanity and depression
are not really new
and language is –
a known form of power
there narrative was so polluted
their lack of compassion –
had to take a shower
but speaking truth to power
saw something flower,
a committee of sorts
where the power of people
told lessons that needed to be taught
but, my, how it scares me
that the not very bright
and those with deficits in their brain
shout me down once again
but strength should be a strong tower
but they got so angry,
their hate had to take a shower
