Stoppage Time
i never had the luxury –
of giving up
the moment –
of a pick me up
i just had to make do
i looked for hands
but my dim hands –
did not reach out
or even understand
and i never had the choice –
to tour my own –
self made diagnosis
one that could run and run
filling out a thousand skies
my own narrative
all fed a diet of lies
but never any escape
i never had the luxury –
of having a solid state fate
it was just me
and all my failures
my faults and ill education
when i was younger –
it was that type of situation
i never had the luxury –
of giving up
