Stick of Rock – Written Tuesday 21st February 2023 (Aged 47)

Stick of Rock

you cannot make people happy
if discontentment is ingrained
like a stick of rock
written through with the word pain
that is the sadness
that in us,
is a streak of something
that cannot be softened of changed
what to do
as human being we have duel roles
both as the resolver
of our own unhappiness
and of others
even when we have no expectation
that is our role
like accepting a job
where you were never actually told
happiness if often solved
by the quick fix approval
the emotional rush
the hopeful route
but it is a psychological ravine
often, a streak of goodness
melded within in our being
some discontentment is ingrained
like a stick of rock
written through with the word pain
