Ask Me About My Day

ask me about my day
as me,
ask me how i am
hold me in bed
when you wrap your arm around me
and tell me –
how much you love me
when i am half asleep
and sleepy dreams,
are starting to find their feet
ask me about my day
so much has come our way
i know we have lost people along the way
but be happy –
with the life achieved
star drops and teardrops
they impact how we believe
ask me about my day
i want to be loved
needed,
and most of all be reliable and useful
help me find new ways
help me feel purposeful
ask me about my day
