Made My Mind Up

i made my mind up –
to be somebody else
surely,
i would not be myself

if you look at me
and believe half –
the untruths that i say
then at least half of them –
must be right

if you live your day –
on solid belief
you must be strong –
with your words
and steady on your feet

if i made my mind up
i would probably be –
a lot less confused
if we all had self respect
then we’d probably –
all get less used

i made my mind up
and you don’t believe that i did
the truth isn’t stolen
people have problems
life isn’t always so golden

if i made my mind up
was was it before i did
but that’s okay,
life has never really hid
