Self Proclaimers – Written Monday 8th June 2015 (Aged 40)

Self Proclaimers

people pick what happens to them
to their loved ones
and suddenly
they are martyrs to the cause
sitting on the board
now i care
now it has come home to roost
and now,
my experience was just a course
with exams i clearly passed
and stages gathered up
all knowledge so complete
i am the cook
i am the professor
i am the artist
but never the confessor
because it is all nonsense
experiences in life do not make you –
an expert
this is something i personally –
have often spied
when the wave of absolute change
leaves you so disenfranchised
i know less than before
and it left us even more insecure inside
