Hastily Closed Door
those clumsy attempts at understanding –
that people do –
when they do not want to care
but they pretend to
special needs?
how so very patronising
no more than –
the crazy folk populating this world have
cannot communicate?
look at their eyes
look at their face
most, so called, ‘normal’, people –
in this world cannot communicate
and though you patronise and say,
‘my new best mate’
secretly you despise them and you hate
special needs?
oh, they egg those people on with a relish
but only when people look
and so quickly they are gone
it’s, look at me and give me the applause
but then so much of the world –
appears to live behind hastily closed doors
