Bedtime – Written Thursday 30th October 1997 (Aged 22)

Bedtime

the only person i am needing
is my friend on the other side
still dead,
but still very much alive
my hand of electricity
grasped for comfort
in the deadness of non reality
i sink into my head
i must lie down on my bed
and watch the day fall away
i must turn things over
just like the covers
i must lie down and take it all in
my friends on the other side
casually come and go
and sometimes they drift by
but into my mind i stare
as i lie down on my bed
my mind is up
and i ponder what lies ahead
the only person i am seeing
is still alive yet very much dead

      1. I don’t know if it’s the very last one – but I think growing up and more things happening in my life, beliefs like this just fell by the wayside. It’s the process of real life and real experiences replacing the fantasy.

      2. Yes, probably. Or maybe certain channels get clogged up we could easily access when we were younger – before we get swallowed up by social obligations. Guess it happes to all of us to some degree
