Individuality – Written July 1997 (Aged 22)

Individuality

are you one of the masses –
that harasses the minority?
are you subject to bouts of genius
or are you subject to stupid mentality?
does it make you any less?
only a few can ever be different
we are not all the same
and if god made us in his image
then god must be insane
does anyone ever notice –
pockets of genius?
people who are sly
with their devastating abilities
doesn’t anyone ever ask why –
their genius is permanently delayed
so they take the minority –
and they try to take them down
label them unsound
it’s an unoriginal view
but how do you see yourself?
one of the masses –
or someone with an individual self?
