Everything and Nothing

of course, everything is about them
they are that sort of person
i am sure you have met the type
high on the fumes of their own hype
and of course,
everything is about them…
or at least,
to do with them…
they are the last to understand –
when they listen –
to carly simon’s, ‘you’re so vain’,
bit of course,
when it matters,
it is about them
however when they can do something
when they can effect and affect change
they are strangely absent
and equally never to blame
when it is put to them or when you talk
nothing is to do with them
and you check,
just to see if it is something you forgot
that the self responsibility
was not indeed somehow red hot
of course,
it was not,
they are a victim in name only
