Waiting For That Moment
i love you
but i am now so cautious
that i cannot love you
i am waiting for that moment
when you will pull the rug –
from underneath my feet
every kiss, every hold
every embrace,
every time we sleep together
every stroke of my face
instead i wonder
i wonder if it will be the last time
i love you
but your constant doubts…
i cannot live with this anxiety
it steals the brightest colours
from my brightly coloured reality
you give as you take
one day it is real,
then i am left feeling fake
one day we swim together
then i drown in your lake
i love you
but i am now so cautious
that i cannot go on loving you
