The Brink – Written Sunday 5th March 2006 (Aged 31)

The Brink

i have been pushed to the brink –
by ill thought out words
and an apron tied to the kitchen sink
i have been pushed beyond reasonable doubt
by a wounded sparrow
with venomous spout
i have been taken to a hell
by a curious ticking bomb
and a secret that will not tell
i have been left just an inch away from madness
by a suburban tainted maniac
one who is high on their lifelong sadness
i have been under attack
in a galaxy of faded stars
by a three legged sack race
and a face that fears coming last
i have been pushed to the brink
by a middle england façade
and an ill read spoon that is clearly home made
i am wrestling with track warfare
i need to make this barricade
because i have been pushed to the brink
by bad english and faulty sums
and answers that do not really think
