Curled Up and Fell Asleep – Written Thursday 30th November 2004 (Aged 29)

Curled Up and Fell Asleep

last night
as i curled up and fell asleep
i realised –
you still had the rhythm of my heartbeat
i realised –
that somewhere beneath the vale of my dreams
behind childish eyes
i am just a gentle human being
guarding a cage
one that contains a volatile nature
last night
as i roamed around my dreamscape
and my breathing became a slower rhythm
i realised, not so far away was your face
though i sometimes shake
and wonder about the reason
as i am rolled around by the hands of fate
i realised –
i should always cherish you
because i would only perish in the world of the new
curled up at your feet
there is still so much to do
