Giftedness
Today the world was still, ‘mad’,
and I still carried—
my holdall of ‘sad’.
And people—
were still entangled in their bias.
But today—
my regret could not be too pious.
My decisions, though—
they knelt down on one knee,
and I knew I was not a king,
not in this current reality.
But regrets,
although tangible
and completely about me,
I still have to accept—
giftedness and authenticity,
not as perfection,
but as me.
And today—
the world was still, ‘mad’,
filled with things people can’t accept
or even understand,
as they recline into their bias
and stain the truth on their hands.
