This Journey
This career has been harder than it should have ever been, or needed to.
Came up, stuck — look at me, look at you.
This life has been harder than I thought it would ever be.
I married her once, and then it went away.
Then, at that age, you’re more convinced that things will stay.
But those feelings — cared, but they do stray.
This world has been more hopeless than I thought it would be, or should be.
But that’s fine, as I continue to sail on this troublesome sea.
