a plane, comes in to undertake –
an emergency landing
we watch
as it comes in to land

those copycat relationships
and identikit men
came and went in your life
wielding your problems like a knife

now it is winter
and will this snow ever melt
this cold
that makes my bones feel old

i think of the child she will never hold
never see grow
there was a world in waiting
a world i wanted to share
