Daughter and Son

Daughter and Son

the two differ
in one, you are in awe of her
and she is amazing
you are proud
and write as if,
screaming it aloud

with the other piece
pride is never expressed
the stilted relationship
is down to him,
as you say,
‘let me be your mother’
I have a feeling
that he has always needed you
I just wonder
if you have known what to do
