We Would Like the Chance to be Tired

i would like the chance to be tired
all these families,
complain about how tired they are
and the demands of their children
i would like us just to have that chance
to say, we are tired
i hear the words pas around
‘these children exhaust me’
‘i cannot keep up’
it is almost, too much…
i would like the chance to be tired
we would like the weekends
to be full of frustration
as try to cross town
trying to get to multiple places
and we would like to be frustrated
because,
we never get enough time to ourselves
i would like the chance to be tired
there is an empty space,
at our table
there is an empty room
and a heart shaped clock
the tells the time far too soon
we do not get the chance to be tired
to be frustrated or unhappy
to feel that we do not have enough time,
for ourselves
how very lucky you are, that you do
