Summer Dreams
we have lost faith in our summer dreams
the smell and the fragrance has turned sour
how sad that hope charges by the hour
we have lost faith in our newspapers
written in a font of lies,
our television screens begin to cry
what happened to summer dreams
that we chased following an eager call
when did corruption stand up
and belief finally fall?
summer dreams seemed so strong
and now they feel so small,
let us think once more
and try to embrace the hope
that we once had
chasing those summer dreams
before filthy corruption made us so sad
