Bond
that bond –
is only seen
when death –
has intervened
and –
cut the ribbon –
to shreds
that bond –
that unseen link
i have drunk up
its bitter taste
and watched a life –
laid to waste
that bond –
is only felt
when the snow falls
and never melts
when leaves fall
and there is no response
to birdsong call
death has found us
and took –
one of our own
it has found a place
turned into a hovel and called it home
it has placed us in chains
left us all alone
that bond –
is only seen –
now she is gone
