Shipwreck – Thursday 20th February 1997

sunken shipwreck
i try my best
but sometimes we just get beached
my face looks drained
almost bleached
i am just a shipwreck
where was i sailing to?
when i started my voyage
what glorious paradise
was i heading towards
as my eyes looked onwards
and i went forwards
a luxury liner reclining in decadence
i should have been told
that life’s seas are a nonsense
i am just a shipwreck
waiting to be uncovered
i have a treasure
just waiting to be discovered
it is my pleasure
to show you around
i am afraid that i am a bit of a mess
if i could get going again
then i would not be such a shipwreck
and you could give it a name
