It Is Not Yours to Shoulder
no one can blame you
sometime ago –
i would have kept my arms –
tight around you
but answers can be in short supply
and no one in life –
should be left alone to cry
you cannot hide the cracks
you have to face forwards
there is no turning back
your loneliness is dictation
by the solo search for answers
that takes you to ever increasing –
levels of desperation and irrationality
but that is not your failure
that is the failure of those around you
to make you feel secure in yourself
to make you feel confident –
and to believe in yourself
no one can blame you
without those things in life
then a scared child –
grows into an even more scared adult
searching for answers
that should have come from a loving upbringing
