A Few Pence
you are a million pounds
i am a few pence
i have always been mixed up
but you have always made sense
i am the old greyhound
that runs blindly round this course
we passed other,
and were the most graceful horse
i was the ship going round in circles
you steered a perfect course
you are a million pounds
i am a few pence
you are all the beautiful sounds
i am just the interference
you are the compass
i am the crumpled map
you face the front
i always seem to be going back
you are a million pounds
i am just a few pence
but even a few pence can shine
and you know how i used to feel
we have all got ladders to climb
