They Do Not Know
they not know –
how beautiful they are
but then,
do any of us?
every medium
tells you,
that you have not –
reached your potential
that is a footnote
something quite incidental
hardly a revelation
for most of us,
talent has not been our salvation
they do not know –
how special they are
that uneasy tag
that when applied
begins to drag
like carrying expectation
or a heavy bag
those who deserve praise
are the backgrounds heroes
who too easily, get mislaid
