Centre of the Universe

some people
do not live in a universe
more of a ‘me-verse’
which spreads,
from the very being
placing themselves at the centre
and never really seeing
assuming things
can only happen to them
and not because of them
if you have faith in love
if you have heard
or seen the dead
if you had slow danced with illness
or gone crazy in the head
you would know
that in fact this is not so
we are just a small part
the tiniest flutterings
from the beat of our hearts
some people
do not live in a universe
just a ‘me-verse’
