The Sting From the Bee

i did not imagine
that this was,
how things were going to be
but you take the risk
and in doing so, risk the sting from the bee
i did not know fully
that there had been others
i did not know that your definitions
and your version of honesty
had no connection with reality
i did not know that you were selfish
that you were lonely
or at the bottom of a well looking for a wish
i did not know –
that you had no respect for me
but you take the risk
and in doing so, risk the sting from the bee
