Push Back Harder
made my way
from your comments
as a child
your horrid parents
took a long hard drag
and packed your childhood
into 1980’s carrier bags
i would turn on the bulbs
i thought there was a switch
why is it,
i am so affected by these things
maybe because
i know the pain of dreams
i do not feel
that i am at an age
where i just have to make do
so i push back harder,
well, wouldn’t you?
