The Moment of Truth
the moment of truth has arrived
here i am as a lonely man
can’t you save me from the dark inside
the day has come
but the chances have gone
the moment of truth has arrived
but it has not arrived with the sun
here i am, easily displayed
the moment of truth has arrived
what can i say?
i am stood in a street of broken glass
no thoughts of freedom and no shoes
i watch a million chances pass
i dream of a world with more than one hue
the moment of truth has arrived
and i am feeling so old,
not even freshly knifed,
just half frozen to a distant death
with a brain drowned in alcohol
and the taste, so stale on my breath
the moment of truth has arrived
