Preserve
you preserve your dignity and sanity
by holding your head up high
and walking away
not allowing pride or stubbornness
to make you stay
you preserve the second
by making no more comments
and know, that if you do
you will only get pulled
into their deadly whirlpool
you preserve friends and family
or family and friends
because it is they,
who always throw the lifelines
and it is they, who always tend
