My Name is James
i have shouldered
my father’s ‘crimes’
for so many years
had to be the box of tissues
for a vast oceans of tears
i have sat in a multitude of cells
and a number of private prisons
all designed by others
all because they look at me
and just see my father
seeing no further than their prejudice
and the pain that lurks inside
i have shouldered
my father’s pains
and all the nasty little games
since i was born
but i am me
and to confuse me with him
well, i am not the same
if you look, we are very different
my name is james
