Time to Let Go – Written Saturday 4th November 2006 (Aged 31)

Time to Let Go

the record has stuck
with the needle in the groove
the scene of the past
no longer moves
there is no emotional future
just an eternal pause
the compact disc
jumps in the same place
mirrors remain haunted
tears permanently stained on the face
left in a moment
that has now become the past
how they hoped for closure
but the pain just lasts
the film has no ending
the same scene is played over and over
it is all rather sad
their personal history book
remains on just one page
time to move on
time to let go
when was it that the light last shone?
time to let go
