Saplings
there are moments
where anger and pain surfaces
then, it goes away again
it comes and goes
but rarely does it slow
i look at others
and wonder, why don’t you end up here
why me, or is that –
a case of paranoia getting too near
make me safe,
and make this pain clear
i take deep breaths
and feel the saplings of my tears
how i wish
for a better place to be
how i wish
to be another version of me
i feel my pain
it is there and i want to be free
