Charnel House – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

Charnel House

buried deep
in the subconscious of my sleep
i see it perched yet steadfast on a hill
a charnel house
where people have been killed
and death is death
even though they are just astral feelings
i try my best
to wake up into this world
from a place of unrest
charnel house seems so alone
in my dreams i have been walking for miles
i hope i am not coming home
and when i am awake, i am still tried
i tip-toe lightly as i move about
i am as quiet as the preverbal mouse
and then, back in my sleep, i am looking at a hill
i am looking at a charnel house
