I Was Lucky

i was lucky
remember that
my overbearing personality
that lacks a diagnosis
managed,
to force its way through a door
and it shouts and it cries
until its throat is sore

i was lucky
remember then
that failure is wearing a cape
and success a top hat
and my insecurity
always seems to find its way back
like the hardest curses
and the latest track
