You Can Have Your Locket Back
you can have your locket back
the shop full of feelings –
of old advertisements and tack
you can take your pictures
and find a new frame
your skipping rope looks frayed
and it is time for a new game
you can have your locket back
your seashells and that old shipwreck
the treasure trove of dead wood
as the locket hung around my neck
that almost choked me but never could
you can have your locket back
your report and personal view
and things that no longer belong
those shuffling in a queue
asked to move along
you can have your locket back
a song full of sadness
of strange times and strange beats
moonshine through the window
listen to the leaving feet
you can have your locket back
