The Cottage on the Corner of Memory Lane
i went to the cottage –
on the corner of memory lane
i found it amongst the maps
that made up my brain
i went to the orphanage
where hopes likes to sleep
it needs no suffrage
or maps to get lost
i went to the place by the sea
it is the future
and it drinks whiskey by the bottle
covered in brown paper bags
i went to the cottage –
on the corner of memory lane
and it felt a little sad
i took a mystery tour through my brain
the rabbits were wild
and all the tigers were tame
the man in the top hat –
he gave me a round of applause
and said, i am glad you came
i went to that cottage –
on the corner of memory lane
so much human suffrage
when will all this madness change?
