Outside Inside
the inside may be dark and lonely
yet the smile must lie
because it is homely
the inside,
your dark inside,
you cry out at three in the morning
you sigh as the new day starts calling
your smile is still there
untainted and freshly painted
but inside, that is a mess
emotions and words easily bleed
and it seems they are bleeding to death
how you must need
how we all do,
in the struggle for warmth
in the struggle for comfort
the inside is blackened
like some sort of burned out shell
the feelings you have, horribly misshapen
and it must feel like a personal hell
