Disappearing Act – Written Tuesday 15th February 1994 and October 1994 (Aged 18/19)

Disappearing Act

she told me a story
in a blanket tent at night
and in the morning
everything was alright
she held me tight
she was cold
she cooked me some toast
then she disappeared
my lover had been a ghost
but she had been the best
so i ate the toast
looked around and left
as i walked out of the front door
the house changed
it was not the same anymore
i ran, and that is a fact
i remembered the lover
who had done a disappearing act
far away,
and i have not been the same since
till this day
