Just Getting Me Down – Written Sunday 23rd October 1994 (Aged 19)

Just Getting Me Down

holding me,
like a treasured possession
you scratch and move
till you speak and say strange words
you wretch and you bitch
dumped by the side of a motorway
in a layby ditch
no one is looking there
you are holding me
covering my eyes
so i cannot see
put me back, to where i belong
i hear you running
as you hum your song
you have such a bad mouth
you whisper and feel around
you stomp and shout
just getting me down
